Los Angeles based CIEGO KAOS, a five piece band with extremely intense individuals, who possess a myriad of musical tastes and influences. Close friends for a number of years, and collaborators on several previous musical projects, the foundation for the group is firmly grounded in mutual respect and as well as a combination of common ideological and cultural values. From these similar interests and beliefs, the five artists collectively pooled their talents to produce CIEGO KAOS.

The band was originally formed in 1994 when they played under the name of MUD. The band consisted of, Miguel Lopez, Rick Valdez, Jim Palacio, Ed Negrete & Dave Ceren. As Mud, the band released three demos and performed all over Southern California from 1994 to 1997 at venues such as; The Whiskey a Go Go, The Roxy, Coconut Teaser, 369 Club and many others. In the spring of 1999, after a one-year hiatus, the band reunited for one final show. Ex frontman Jim Palacio decided to part ways with the band, thus allowing bassist Ed Negrete to move over to vocal.

With the new line-up change, the band decided to take on a new start and change their name to CIEGO KAOS. With the desire to continue on, the band went to work immediately, writing new material and within a couple of months recorded a five-song cd which was released in the summer of 1999. The band performed at various locations throughout Southern and Northern California.

In the spring of 2000, singer and bassist, Ed Negrete made the switch over to vocals only and long time friend and supporter, Jorge Lopez came on board as the band's new bass guitarist.

The five-piece thrash band, out of the San Gabriel Valley have a wide variety of influences that include music, film, and literature. Some of their musical influences include Black Sabbath, early Metallica, Sepultura, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Fear Factory, Slipknot and countless others.
